Sweet Disposition
I'm sick of backpackers. They're so self righteous. Everything is a pissing contest. I'm over Australia and everything contained within it. It's over. Take me home. I surrender.

Banananananana farming innit
Back on the banana farm abeit a different one from last time and back on a bagging machine. The farm is a lot smaller than the last and the farmer is easier to get on with so doing a couple more months time seems a little easier.
Innisfail is better than Cardwell in many ways. We have a choice of supermarkets, fast food retailers and are only an hour from Cairns so we can spend our weekends diving although that wouldn't do too well for the bank balance. There's also an airfield nearby that we can sky dive from and we are located near one of the major rivers for white water rafting.
We're entering 'winter' here so we're expecting temperatures just above 25 degrees, the heatings on full and we have plenty of wood stock to see us through!

Up, Down, Left, Right
OK so we spent a few days job hunting in Melbourne and it looks like you need coffee making experience to work in the bars down there. No one is willing to provide this training or offer work experience. I would understand that Hannah can't score bar work having no experience but I've worked as an assistant manager surely I'd be gold dust??!?!?!
Therefore we've come back up to North Queensland and will be commencing work in Innisfail (about one hour South of Cairns) and this will most definately be on a banana farm, the one thing we have experience in!! We have flown to Cairns today and will depart for Innisfail tomorrow, good times :).

Melbers
We've landed in Melbourne to start the job and flat hunt (again!!). Had an awesome three days in Sydney and got to see most of the sites, Habour Bridge and Opera House were done as soon as possible. We were very fortunate to score a couple of tickets to go and see the Sydney Philamonia Choir perform a rendition of Beethoven's 9th in the main concert hall, we're still feeling smug about that one!
The weather here is definately a lot cooler than in Brisbane and we saw rain for the first time in months! We're going to stick it here for a few weeks and try and find some work, failing that it will be a return to the banana farms. :).

Diversion
A slight change in plans will she Hannah and myself spending a few days in Sydney before making our way over to Melbourne. We're meeting up with another friend from the farm (who was in Brisbane) and collectively making our way over to Melbourne to find some graft. Fingers crossed!

So Long Brisbane
Sarah's time in Brisbane is coming to a close as is our own. After Sarah leaves on Tuesday Hannah and myself will be jetting over to Melbourne to pick up on the thousand promises of work!!
Sarah has been all over town photographing bands for her FMP. Her rest periods between this have been split rather evenly, she's either shopping or sight seeing! Tomorrow we plan to hit the big ferris wheel in town, so we're praying for good weather (and sunset).

No More From the WWF
Luck struck a few days after the last blog and I landed a job with a company named 2evolve. They practice in face to face marketing and outsource their skills in this arena to earn $$$$$ for charities. I was selected for the WWF team and I had to get the public to sign up for monthly donations. Two weeks later and the contract has been pulled due to mine and other's poo performance, so I'm down and out in Brisbane. I don't mind, the job was next to impossible anyway and it didn't help being sent to places with the highest unemployment rates/pensioners/drug addicts in Queensland - so I wasn't totally to blame.
On a brighter note I have another job interview for tomorrow. The advert was vague: Earn $$$$$$ full time PROMO work. Let's see . . . . . .

Brisslington Town
I have booked my divemaster course which starts in October so my plan is to stay in Brisbane and work until then, all I need is a job!
We have just moved into a shared house for about six weeks. I am trying to find a job and Hannah is going to lay low before returning home in April. If I haven't found anything by the time Sarah is back in the UK I will have to cut my loses and go back to the farms, wahoooo!

Stop Don't Do It
Here we are on our last day in Airlie Beach. Not really done much, jumped out of a plane at 14,000ft and fell to the ground in under 55 seconds. Proper madstylee! Leaving the plane was the wierdest sensation. There is DVD evidence which will make it's way to the shores sometime in the next few weeks. Outside of that we've just been mooching about and recharging the batteries. It's nice to have our own space to cook/clean/chill in for a while so we're making the most.
Tomorrow we head for Hervey Bay which is the mainland calling point for Fraizer Island. We intend to spend a couple of days there before heading on down to Brisbane Town!!!!

The FYI
Time has come to leave the lovely place of Cardwell behind. On Thursday we disembark for Brisbane via Airlie Beach and Fraizer Island. We'll be meeting up with a lad we've met here and will be sorting ourselves out with jobs and a shared flat whilst we await more friends to join us.
The plan is to spend six wonderous months in Brisbane, we'll see how that one pans out.
